So you understand how we come up with your address, here is a brief explanation. Starting at the beginning of every road in Columbia County, a number is assigned to every fifty feet of road frontage. Your address will be determined by the placement of your driveway, not where your house sits on the property nor the direction your house faces.

After you submit your form, you will receive notice of your assigned address by telephone.  If requested, a confirmation letter can be mailed to you at the current mailing address you provided on this form.

In the next part of this form you will be asked to enter the measurements needed for us to come up with your address. We will need to know, in exact footage, the measurement from the CENTER OF YOUR DRIVEWAY to the CENTER OF YOUR CLOSEST NEIGHBORS DRIVEWAY that is on the same side of the road. It is also preferable that we get measurements from BOTH directions to reduce the possibility of errors. If you are the first house on the road then you may make the measurement to the corner of the intersecting road.

In some cases, the closest neighbor on the same side of the road may be an extreme distance from you and a neighbor on the opposite side of the road may be closer. We will handle this on a case by case basis, but generally we prefer the measurement from the same side of the road.

*As a reminder, this must be an Exact Measurement in feet. We cannot except  approximate measurements or measurements from a vehicle odometer. If you are unable to make these measurements then you must contact us directly to make arrangements for Columbia County 911 to do these measurements for you at our convenience. If the information you provide is inaccurate, then we will contact you to verify the information given or we will make arrangements to verify the measurements ourselves. Any inaccurate or incomplete information given will only delay the process of assigning your new address.
