Kevin Johnson started his career
in public safety in May 1992 as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician. Finding himself more
and more interested in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Kevin enrolled in classes at Hudson
Valley Community College, graduating in August 1996 as a Paramedic. He was employed
full time by Greenport Rescue Squad until joining the Columbia County 911 staff in August of 1997. Kevin currently holds a 911 Emergency Dispatcher I position.
Kevin is a past member with the Philmont Rescue Squad, where he has held such offices as
Lieutenant, Captain, and Director; Greenport Rescue Squad and Copake Rescue Squad.
He is also a Deputy EMS Coordinator for Columbia County.
Kevin
is a 1992 graduate of Taconic Hills Central School and lives in the Town of Claverack.
