So you're building a house, or buying a new one? Here is what we will need from you...

We will need to know your Tax Map ID #. This number should appear with a series of numbers, dots and dashes on your Deed that looks like this.. (ie 123456-12.-34.56 ). 3. For all New Construction, you will be required to submit a copy of your approved Driveway/Building Permits to Columbia County 911 prior to receiving a 911 Address. Upon submission of your Permits, you will be assigned a Temporary 911 Address that can be used for Permitting, Utilities and Emergency Services only. * Upon completion of your project, you must provide a copy of your Certificate of Occupancy for the temporary address to become Permanent. * If Building Permits expire prior to receiving a Certificate of Occupancy, then temporary 911 Address will be removed from the records and you will need to begin the Address Request process again. * If the property is Sold prior to completion of any construction projects, the temporary 911 Address will be removed and the new owners will be required to follow the Address Request procedure. When you have this information ready, you can call the Columbia County 911 Office at 518-828-1263 and request a new 911 Address assignment for your property. ** Be advised, if you are calling on behalf of the property owner, you will need to provide the Owners Name, Phone and Email Address as we will only release the assigned address to the property owner |
