COUNTY 911 DISPATCHERS ATTEND LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING...

STAATSBURG, NY -- Dispatchers from Columbia County 911 recently completed Advanced Law Enforcement Dispatcher training at the New York State Park Police Headquarters in Staatsburg, NY.  Emergency 911 Dispatchers Frank Martin, Jr. and Robyn Sweet attended the two-day, 16-hour course.  The course taught dispatchers invaluable skills to help them handle emergency law enforcement calls effectively by following a simple formula designed to gather and share the most important information quickly and accurately. Some of the topics covered included identifying gunshots, domestic violence, officer safety, suspect and vehicle descriptions, bomb threats, call prioritization and customer service tips.
